TUCSON, Ariz. -- It looks as if Texas -- as in burnt orange and Hook 'em Horns -- is a new pipeline to the University of Arizona.
On Tuesday afternoon, wide receiver Cayleb Jones, a five-star high school recruit, announced he will transfer to Arizona to join Rich Rodriguez and former UT reserve quarterback Connor Brewer.
"We've really enjoyed being a part of the Texas program, but we've talked about the situation as a family, and we think it's best for Cayleb to get a fresh start and transfer to another school," Cayleb's father, Robert Jones, said in a statement to the Austin American Statesman. The elder Jones is a former Dallas Cowboys player.
Jones caught two passes for 35 yards last season as a freshman for UT and was expected to contend for a starting role this season. But, he was suspended for Texas' season opener against New Mexico State after being charged with aggravated assault in connection to an incident involving a Texas tennis player.
