Missouri has fired the first shot in the news cycle leading up to the Tigers' first conference game as an SEC member against Georgia. Apparently, Mizzou defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson was not too impressed with the Dawgs' 45-23 win over Buffalo. "Asked if he watched Georgia's opener against Buffalo earlier in the day — a 45-23 Georgia victory — Richardson replied, "I watched that game. I turned it off, too. … It's like watching Big Ten football. It's old-man football." "If we execute," he added, "nobody in this league can touch us. Period." Needless to say, word of Richardon's comments has already reached the Empire State of the South, as a Georgia head football coach Mark Richt was asked about the comments. “’Old-man football?’ Well, I don’t know what he meant by that,” Richt said. “But bottom line is, we got to get after it and do what we do well, and they’ll be trying to stop everything w...

Missouri football player trash talks SEC, Big Ten

For some unknown reason (other than money), the University of Missouri decided to inflict pain upon their football program by joining the Southeastern Conference on July 1.  Most would think that the Tigers, who went 8-5 last season in a decent Big XII, would take their lumps in their first season in the SEC.  They will travel to #6 Georgia for a nationally-televised night game...

Richt holding off on Georgia's RB starter

Georgia coach Mark Richt hasn't announced a starting tailback for Saturday's game at Missouri, even though freshman Todd Gurley rushed for 100 yards on just eight carries in his college debut. Gurley says he expects Ken Malcome to remain the top guy on the depth chart. Malcome started the opener against Buffalo, rushing for 32 yards before he went out with an injured left...
