LOS ANGELES ---When Robert Woods got the call on Monday night, he immediately had to stop what he was doing.
He was in the middle of a Twitter war of words with UCLA freshman defensive back Randall Goforth. Or so he thought.
Apparently Goforth's Twitter account was hacked and sent out a tweet directed to Woods saying "We will beat you guys on November 17th. Believe the hype."
That tweet drew the ire of Woods. Eventually Marqise Lee chimed in as did plenty of USC and UCLA fans. The back and forth between the players lasted close to two hours before Woods issued a final tweet: "No more tweets for me lol got that (call)"
The call came from head coach Lane Kiffin telling his star wide receiver to get off of Twitter.
Kiffin had just ended a conversation with UCLA head coach Jim Mora, who told him about the Twitter spat.
"I give Jim Mora credit. Jim called me last night," Kiffin said. "I didn't know anything about it, I was just working.

As they entered the practice facility to set up the field for Thursday morning's workout, USC Coach Lane Kiffin and football student managers declined to comment about the latest controversy surrounding the Trojans.
The Pac-12 Conference reprimanded and fined USC because a student manager intentionally deflated, below NCAA-regulated levels, several balls used by the Trojans...
The USC Trojans defense has not bee horrible all season long under defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, who is the father of head coach Lane Kiffin. They 49th in the nation in points allowed, which is certainly nothing to boast about. But it is not how the Trojans’ defense has played throughout the season that has people talking in Southern California. It is the last two games that...
LOS ANGELES -- If three losses and a two-game losing skid wasn't enough, more air came out of the USC program late Wednesday night when the school announced they were being fined by the Pac-12 Conference for deflating balls in last Saturday's loss to Oregon.
A student manager was seen deflating balls on the Oregon sideline. That manager has since been fired by the program...
LOS ANGELES Inevitably, if you are fortunate enough to have a father you revere live long enough, there comes a time where you have to begin searching for reminders of the man you once knew.
They gradually become obscured by uncertainty, frailty and other diminishing curses of age, which no amount of determination can seem to beat back.
Now, imagine that you are not only this...
USC Coach Lane Kiffin speaks with the media following the Trojans Thursday practice.

USC Coach Lane Kiffin speaks with the media following Wednesday's practice. The No. 21 Trojans are preparing to snap their two-game skid against Arizona State on Saturday.
USC’s Head Coach Lane Kiffin has done some pretty shady stuff during his time as a College Football Head Coach. Whether it’s piling up secondary NCAA violations at Tennessee, or having his backup quarterback wear his kickers’ jersey, he’s built up quite a reputation for himself. This time though, USC is in the headlines for something a Student Manager did.On USC’s website...
It seems that controversy just seems to continue to show up at the doorstep of the USC football program this season. Of course, most of it is Lane Kiffin’s doing, since he foolishly lied about his coaches’ poll vote and even more foolishly briefly banned a reporter from USC’s practices for doing his job.
Add in the fact that visiting teams were banned from walkthroughs at the...
Posts on a phony Twitter account unleashed the inner Jim Mora on Tuesday.
The UCLA coach was angry about a person portraying themselves as freshman safety Randall Goforth. There were several posts made directed at USC receiver Robert Woods, which brought replies from Woods and others.
The account has been suspended. Not good enough, according to Mora.
I think its a joke that someone...
Tweet Whether or not he had anything to do with it, Lane Kiffin is the most entertaining head coach in college football. Per the university’s website, the USC Trojans have been fined by the Pac-12 for under-inflated game balls that were used in USC’s loss to the Oregon Ducks Saturday Nov. 3: Game officials discovered [...]
A fake Twitter account portraying UCLA Bruins freshman Randall Goforth caused quite an uproar Monday night. The Bruins are set to take on the crosstown rival USC Trojans on Nov. 17 and one imposter used the social media site to stir things up using Goforth as an alias. The account has since been shut down, and the identity of the imposter is still not known, but UCLA head coach...
USC was fined and reprimanded by the Pac 12 today after officials discovered three USC game balls without enough air in them on the Trojans sideline before the game, and found two more after halftime. If you're unfamiliar with this phenomenon, or physics, it's easier to catch, kick and throw a football if it's a little bit flat. Since teams control their own balls for...
