LSU head football coach Les Miles went off on a non-mama-approved language filled rant during a news conference following LSU's 17-6 win over Florida on Saturday. It happened when NOLA.com's Jeff Duncan tried to ask Miles a simple question.
"Les, you talked about this pounding and the way you all lost the game
down there last year when they were kind of the hammer more than you all
were, what does. . .
At which point Miles interrupted Duncan and began a rant filled with a mild explicative-filled rant where he disagreed with the whole "hammer" and "nail" analogy.
Les Miles being Les Miles is a sight to be seen.

Les Miles watched his LSU team win a hard-fought battle this afternoon against the Florida Gators, but he still found a way to be upset afterward. In the postgame presser, Miles was asked how he felt about this win compared to last year’s matchup (No. 4 LSU was upset 14-6) and specifically if it felt better to be “the hammer.” While the question was a rather innocent one, it...
LSU Tigers coach Les Miles wants you to know that if you are Italian and like to explore, then Columbus Day is your day - but not St. Patty's Day.
God we love Les Miles.
He is truly one of a kind, one of the few coaches in football...or any other sport that you have no idea what he is going to say during a press conference.
And we love that.
He will call you out for asking stupid questions. He'll let you know if he's happy or if he's sad.
And yes, despite the below video, he's pretty happy today...
Mad Hatter gone wild: LSU coach Les Miles didn't take too kindly to a question about the roles of the hammer and the nail in the Tigers' rivalry with Florida. We counted a total of four naughty words in the Tigers' coach's reply. Chalk it up as yet another memorable moment with a microphone for Miles.

LSU defeated Florida on Saturday in a hard fought SEC game. Afterwards, Les Miles again proved that he has a screw loose by going off on a reporter for making an analogy to the two teams as a hammer and nail. I believe Miles got offended over the fact that he sees the two programs as equals and preferred the more colorful analogy that his team played like a "son of a b*tch...
After the LSU Tigers battled to a 17-6 victory over the Florida Gators, Les Miles held his post game press conference and was unpredictable, as per usual. A reporter used a hammer and nail reference to explain LSU and Florida’s last few matchups and that set Miles off. The Mad Hatter did not appreciate the reporter referring to the losing team as the nail and absolutely destroyed...
Les Miles is just plane weird. Asked if it felt better to be the hammer following LSU's win yesterday against the Florida (LSU was upset by the Gators last year) -- the coach went on a wild eyed, strange 'hammer and nail' tangent. [College Spun]

After beating Florida, LSU coach Les Miles went on a classic Les Miles rant when a reporter compared the two programs to a "hammer and a nail."

LSU head coach Les Miles is back with another classic postgame soundbyte after the Tigers 17-6 win over #17 Florida on Saturday.
After the game, a reporter referenced last year's Florida win over LSU in the swamp and asked if LSU was a 'nail to Florida's hammer'. Miles' didn't take the question lightly and fired back.
Les Miles insisted LSU's defense would rebound from worrying performances in recent weeks, and it looks as if he knew what he was talking about.
Jeremy Hill rushed for 121 yards and LSU's defense did the rest to give the 10th-ranked Tigers a 17-6 victory over No. 17 Florida on Saturday.
LSU, who came in averaging 45.5 points, had a much harder time finding the end zone...
