After learning that Carlos Hyde's alleged victim did not wish to pursue charges against the Buckeyes' star running back we called on head coach Urban Meyer to do the right thing. That right thing? Suspend Hyde anyway, especially given the video evidence that came out.

So, as we learned very early on Wednesday morning that Hyde will indeed be suspended for three games we have to congratulate Meyer on doing the right thing given the evidence and the principles Meyer puts out for his program.

Hyde not only will miss the first three games (Buffalo, San Diego State, at Cal) but he will also have to perform other duties to get back on the team.

"Carlos Hyde will be suspended for at least the first three games of the 2013 season for conduct not representative of this football program or this university," Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said in a release by the athletic department. "He will be required to fulfill additional obligations before he is allowed to play in a game."

His earliest return would be the week of the Florida A&M game, one week before Big Ten action kicks in to overdrive with games at Northwestern and vs. Wisconsin.
