PLAYERS: Gary Pinkel
TEAMS: Missouri Tigers
Football coaches take practice pretty seriously. That's why, when they notice their players focusing their attention on anything other than technique, pigskin and playbooks, they tend to make changes, no matter how drastic. On Wednesday morning, Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel noticed two women in athletic shorts and sports bras running stairs at Faurot Field. Sports reporter Eric Blumberg of KOMU-TV in Columbia reported that the coach asked the two women to "come back later" because he felt they were a distraction to his team. Blumberg tweeted a photo of the women, which can be seen below. These two ladies...

Gary Pinkel not a fan of girls running stadiums during practice

Missouri coach Gary Pinkel wasn’t happy that some coeds were running stadiums during the football team’s practice, so he kicked them out of the stadium. Of course they were dressed in workout apparel, at least that’s what it appears to be, and were attractive enough to distract enough of the team to upset Pinkel. For what it’s worth, I’m distracted looking at the picture...

Gary Pinkel asks ladies to stop running stairs during Missouri’s practice because they were a distraction

The two ladies above were just minding their own business and running stadium stairs during Missouri’s practice on Wednesday. Presumably, they weren’t attempting to be a distraction. They just wanted to get a workout in. But that’s not how Missouri coach Gary Pinkel saw things. He saw them as a distraction. So he asked them to “come back later.” Wonder who couldn’t focus...

Missouri coach asks girls running on stadium stairs to leave because they were a distraction (Picture)

If the young ladies you see in the photo above were running in your general vicinity when you were trying to do something, would you be able to focus? Apparently the Missouri football team cannot. According to Eric Blumberg of KOMU8-TV in Columbia, one of the Mizzou coaches asked the ladies to come back and run the stadium stairs another time on Wednesday morning because they...

Mizzou’s Gary Pinkel means business, kicks out two women for distracting his team during practice

In order to improve on last year, you can’t have any distractions right? Well that sure seems to be the case with Missouri Tigers head coach Gary Pinkel who informed two young ladies running up and down the stadium stairs to come back some other time. So what was the problem? The two long legged females were distracting his football team during practice. Whoops! Ref: Eric Blumberg...

Missouri coordinator confident in team's run game

Missouri is optimistic it can find success through its running game despite the loss of last year's leading rusher Henry Josey. Offensive coordinator Dave Yost says Kendial Lawrence currently is projected as the starter, but the team isn't afraid to use different tailbacks for specialized situations. Lawrence began the 2011 season atop the depth chart but broke his left...

The Mizzou Practice Girls: A Busted Coverage i-Team Investigation

By now you’ve heard about the two girls running the stairs this week during a Missouri football practice. Gary Pinkel, trying to get his team ready for the SEC, noticed his players being distracted by the pooners so he kicked the ladies out of the stadium. There’s your story. Not much more to report. However, for BC, there is plenty to investigate, specifically the names, Facebook...

Yost confident in Mizzou running game

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) When Missouri tailback Henry Josey tore his left ACL, MCL and patellar tendon in November, there was little doubt he would be watching the season's remaining games from the sidelines. The bigger question was: Would he return in 2012, or ever, for that matter? Fast-forward nine months and, as the team practices for the upcoming season, Josey is still watching...

Missouri is NOT Ready for the SEC

I was gonna save this for the Junk Drawer today, but the more I thought about it the more I felt it deserved its own post. Missouri coach Gary Pinkel's got plenty to worry about with the Tigers moving to the SEC. Georgia's coming to Columbia for the team's league opener. Alabama rolls into town five weeks later. Plus they have that little trip to The Swamp to worry...

Mizzou Coach can't have Stair-Running Chicks mixed with Football Practice

Total SEC move. Can't waste one snap at practice not fully alert. One head swivel too far, and you're losing to Vanderbilt or Kentucky. Can't have that. No chick who goes to Missouri is worth a SEC football loss. If this was a Florida or Texas A&M issue, I'll allow it. But Missouri: Gary Pinkel did the right thing with those broads who were trying to cash...
