Brian Te’o, the father of Notre Dame star linebacker Manti Te’o, has blacklisted the Honolulu Star-Advertiser over the way the newspaper portrayed his son on the front page after the Alabama Crimson Tide thrashed the Fighting Irish 42-14 in the BCS Championship Game.

Brian Te’o posted this comment, which was later deleted, and a photo of the newspaper on the Manti Te’o “Official” Fan Club on Facebook:

“Our family has been very gracious to the Star Advertiser by providing interviews and photos of our son in the recent weeks. On our way home from Miami we were “privileged” to see how the Star Advertiser returns that favor by posting a photo of our son “presumably” being “bowled over” by the Alabama RB (Eddie Lacy). So, from this point forward, Star Advertiser you have been officially black listed. I will no longer agree to any more interviews, sharing of photos, or anything else, and I will encourage all who have a subscription to your newspaper to not renew. Be more responsible in the future…if you can.” Brian Te’o:

In the meantime, Manti Te’o — the Heisman Trophy finalist  — is looking forward, not backward, now that his career at Notre Dame is over.

  • As a Notre Dame fan but also being truthful, the Newspaper article and the photograph were spot on. No getting around it, no way to color it any other way, Notre Dame got steamrolled. Manti looked like he didn't know the game started. ND looked like they didn't deserve to be on the same field, totally outclassed and out played. If Manti is to be considered a 1st round pick he'd better get used to the critism. He played like nothing special and the rest of the team followed.
  • notre dame did way more trash talking bama .. they got what they deserved ....our mobile homers showed the golden domers ...
  • WHAT THE PLUCK! HE POPS YOUR SON SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN GIVEN THOSE AWARDS, HE DIDNT DO CRAP BUT HAVE SEVERAL PEOPLE PASS AWAY IN HIS LIFE. AND I UNDERSTAND THE LOST BUT HE SHLD HV BEEN GIVEN SMTHING ELSE BC I KNW PLENTY OTHER ATHLETES THT WERE GOING THROUGH LOST AND HAD PERSONAL ISSUES TO OVER COME. TAKE YOUR PUNK AZZ SMWHR AND SIT DOWN, THEY DID YOU ALL A FAVOR... ANOTHER TEBOW! JUST BC YOU DONT HV MANY DOING IT THEY WILL DO THR BEST TO FIND A TEBOW OR JEREMY LIN! LOL
  • The family should not piss the media off just yet they need them to hype him up the draft board.
  • All of Notre Dame was overrated and it showed big time during the game.
  • What did he do rip it up....Ohhhhhhhh!!!!!

Notre Dame you really didn't deserve to be in that game. Thanks for a disappointing championship game
  • Amazing. What part of newspapers being neutral and reporting the facts does Mr. Teo not get? Did he assume that this one was his own personal publicity machine for his son? His arrogance - and delusional tendency - is astounding. His son got his ass whipped by Alabama and now we find out that his "girlfriend" of 3 years was imaginary. What a pair - an egomaniacal stage dad and an apparent idiot.

If so why did he only interview with the Eagles? Was Kelly simply trying to increase his paycheck...

Airline ad mocks Brent Musburger obsession with A.J. McCarron's girlfriend.

Today's "oh no, they didn't!" moment comes from Spirit Airlines, who decided to mock Brent Musburger's on-air fascination with Alabama quarterback A.J. Three Tide Stars Go Early To NFL

Three Alabama juniors (in football eligibility) made what Crimson Tide Coach Nick Saban called “a business decision” Friday. Lacy's departure won't hinder Tide

Though Eddie Lacy is forgoing his senior season to enter the NFL draft, Alabama's backfield won't see much--if any--drop off in 2013 with all the rising talent it has at the running back position.
