ATHENS, Ga. -- Aaron Murray threw four touchdown passes, Todd Gurley became only the second true freshman in Georgia history to rush for 1,000 yards, and the No. 5 Bulldogs bounced back from a sluggish start to blow out lower-division Georgia Southern 45-14 Saturday. Georgia (10-1) reached 10 wins for the eighth time in Mark Richt's dozen seasons as coach. Georgia Southern (8-3) had a shot at the halftime lead, only to get scuttled by a penalty, and Murray took control from there. He completed a 24-yard touchdown pass to Malcolm Mitchell with just 4 seconds left in the half, sending Georgia to the locker room with a 17-7 lead. In the third quarter, Murray hooked up with Chris Conley on a pair of scoring passes, sandwiched around a 43-yarder to Tavarres King.

Georgia Recruiting: 2013 RB Alvin Kamara, “If I want to go to Georgia, I will go to Georgia”

It’s no secret the Georgia Bulldogs want Alvin Kamara—at least it’s not to any fan whose been following Bulldog recruiting with more than a passing interest— he’s been a longtime staple on the team’s 2013 recruiting wish list. That said, Kamara made it clear from the beginning that he wasn’t in a hurry to make a decision about his collegiate playing future, and his...

Georgia Bulldogs: The Bulldogs Make a Move in the BCS, but Alabama is Still the SEC Darling

After a tumultuous weekend of Top 5 football, the Bulldogs found that sometimes it’s better to have a little bit of ‘luck’ on your side. The Georgia Bulldogs BCS National Championship hopes rose on Sunday evening as the latest BCS rankings lifted the Bulldogs from N0. 5 to No.3. That means one thing and one thing only, if you’re a Dawg fan: if they win the last two games...

Georgia Southern CB Valdon Cooper’s right ring finger turned into a mangled mess

Despite my significant lack of medical knowledge, I’m pretty sure fingers are not supposed to bend that way. Georgia Southern cornerback Valdon Cooper suffered this gruesome injury during the Eagles’ 45-14 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs this past Saturday.  Suffice it to say Cooper probably didn’t play the rest of the game, seeing that it’s quite difficult to defend a wide...

Georgia Bulldogs: New Life, New Purpose in the BCS

Let me get straight to the point: Oregon and Kansas State both lost on Saturday. Now, assuming the BCS isn’t as full of cow manure as many think it is, that means only one thing…Georgia has a shot at the BCS National Championship if they beat Georgia Tech next weekend and defeat Alabama in the SEC Championship Game. It’s that simple. Of course, at this point, there is absolutely...

No. 5 Georgia 45, Georgia Southern 14

Even with Georgia Southern on the verge of a halftime lead, Aaron Murray wasn't worried. He knew No. 5 Georgia was too good to let this one slip away.
