The Bulldogs improved their win total in each season under Dykes, from five wins to eight and then nine. Dykes replaces Jeff Tedford, who was let go after 11 seasons and was the school’s winningest coach. Part of Tedford’s downfall were two blowout losses to Oregon and Oregon State to end the 2012 season and three straight losses to Stanford.  Dykes wants more accountability, especially on a defense that surrendered 33 points per contest last year.  The offense lost wide receiver Keenan Allen, who caught 61 passes for 737 yards and six touchdowns last season.
