With no In-N-Out double-doubles to be found in the state, Oregon State coach Mike Riley will have to come up with another incentive for the No. 8 Beavers this weekend against Utah.
Not that they need it.
The Beavers have opened 5-0 and climbed to their highest ranking since they finished the 2000 season at No. 4 after a Fiesta Bowl victory over Notre Dame.
It is a stunning turnaround for a team that went just 3-9 last season and was picked to finish last in the Pac-12 North. Instead, the Beavers are a win away from bowl eligibility at the halfway point of their season.

Mike Riley announced Thursday that injured quarterback Sean Mannion will dress down for Week 8, when Oregon State takes on the Utah Utes.
On October 8, it was announced that Mannion would be out “indefinitely” due to an undisclosed knee injury. The second year quarterback suffered the injury in Week 6 against Washington State on a hand off.
Mannion was replaced...
Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion suffered a knee injury earlier in the year and it wasn’t known whether or not he’d be back this season, and if he would, when.
Well, it turns out that Mannion will be dressing this weekend, and as Mike Riley puts it:
I don’t let anybody dress down that can’t play in the games.
Cody Vaz is most likely going to start this weekend and has...
OREGON STATE HAS found unconventional ways over the years to exceed expectations (markedly) and win games under Mike Riley. Oregon State is again defying conventional wisdom in a certain area in 2013 -- and this is really one for the books...
Apparently there may be life after Sean Mannion. Backup quarterback Cody Vaz played well enough for the Beavers to win a tight game against BYU. Vaz looked fantastic on his opening drive. On that drive, he completed 100% of his passes, including an 11-yard touchdown to Marcus Wheaton. After that drive, Vaz’s completion percentage dropped to 62.5 percent and he tossed two more touchdowns...

The Oregon State Beavers are enjoying one of the best seasons in team history. While it’s been an overall team effort to get this far, some players have been having exceptional seasons.
Of course, that’s a double edged sword.
Where there are players who have been playing exceptional, you will always find players who aren’t carrying their fare...
The Brigham Young Cougars' loss this last Saturday to now no. 8 (in the BCS standings) Oregon State was disappointing. But there were good signs – to see BYU compete for almost four quarters against a top 10 team is encouraging. Despite the loss, scratch that, because of the loss, I think the Oregon State game was exactly what BYU needed to best prepare them for Notre Dame...
THERE IS A strong temptation to feel like this is a magical Oregon State season where things are all just coming together at the right time -- a tough schedule but the extra bye weeks helped or the Beavers were lucky. Just sit back and enjoy the magic carpet ride with Utah on tap for Saturday night. And then there comes a moment when...
