Oregon junior lineman Jake Fisher dipped into the sarcasm closet a little during an interview with CSN Northwest discussing the Ducks' upcoming game against Tennessee. Instead of going just snarky on the Vols' (which would have been easy, considering the past few seasons in Knoxville), he decided to take on the whole flipping conference.
Some of the highlights of Fisher's snarkfest:
"They're big, strong and fast, and they're the SEC, and no one can beat the SEC, so, we're going to have all the challenges."
"Yeah they're really big and scary, so, we're all really, really intimidated by the SEC, so we're just going to have to keep our minds right."
"Yeah, it's our dream to play the SEC, so, you know, we're just going to come out and play a good game."
Uh, Jake, which conference did Auburn, the team that beat Oregon for the 2010 BCS title come from? Exactly. Granted you weren't on that team, but don't think that facing a Tennessee team in the rebuilding stage is going to be a walk in the park.

Oregon Ducks lineman Jake Fisher appears to be complimenting the SEC, but really he's just being hilariously sarcastic with Tennessee headed to Eugene.

On September 14, the Tennessee Volunteers will come charging into Autzen stadium riding a two-game blowout streak. The last time the Ducks and Vols played, in 2010, the Ducks prevailed, 48-13. It remains to be seen if history will repeat itself.
So far this season, Marcus Mariota has passed for 433 yards with a 53.1% completion rate...
Everyone knows that the SEC has been the most dominance conference in college football over the past decade. Understandably, however, that gets extremely frustrating to some of the top teams in other conferences who have more than held their own in the same period.
The Oregon Ducks are one of those teams, and this week they take on the Tennessee Volunteers. Today, when asked about...
The Tailgater college football week 3 picks
We witnessed some spectacular upsets last week, and it made for some interesting results against the spread. There were some hits and some misses for the Tailgater crew; only one of us finished with a winning record. Few things are more humbling than going against Vegas.
The second week results pulled the standings closer; here’s how...
It’s time for the Oregon Ducks to get off the fence. Are they going to step up and join the true elite of college football or are they going to remain a highly ranked team that piles on more doubters as the years progress?
In spite of beginning and ending consecutive seasons ranked in the top 5 in BCS polls, the Oregon Ducks are consistently a target for college football pundits...
Yes, I wrote the title without chuckling--I'm dead serious. I do believe that the lovely ladies of the Oregon Ducks cheerleading squad are a key component to the popularity of the football team.
Why? Because the team plays so many soft opponents (Nichols and Virginia are not even close to being in the same class as the Ducks) that the games are blown out early and kind...
Marcus Mariota had a career-high 456 yards passing as #2 Oregon rolled to a 59-14 win over Tennessee this afternoon in Autzen Stadium. The sophomore Heisman Trophy candidate tossed four touchdowns in the win, 23-33 passing with 4 touchdowns.
Mariota shook off a 2-8 start and had 350 yards by halftime. He left the game with 5 minutes to go in third quarter and the Ducks up 52-7....
From coaches' comments during the week, here are three keys to the game versus Virginia:
Super Mario must be super
Scott Frost said this week that Marcus Mariota has been making good decisions on his throws this season, but the Ducks' passing game has been plagued by drops, breakdowns in protection and play calls that didn't work.
On Wednesday he told Rob Moseley...
Tennessee dominated the game for the first six minutes. They forced a three and out from the Oregon offense, shut down the Ducks without any points after giving up a fumble, drove 80 yards in six plays for a 7-0 lead with 9:00 to play in the first quarter.
The visitors looked poised and in command, and at that point, the Ducks looked flat and disorganized. A block in the back penalty...
EUGENE, Ore. – It may have taken a few minutes for the Oregon Ducks to wake up in an early starting game against Tennessee because the Volunteers jumped out to a 7-0 lead. However, the Ducks roared back with 38 unanswered points and the rout is on.
The Oregon Ducks are taking on the Tennessee Volunteers today in Autzen. Oregon is a heavy favorite since Tennessee has not had a great past few seasons. Their new coach Butch Jones hopes to change that. Well, the Oregon Ducks apparently are wearing this today in the match up. The helmets have duck feathers on them and the entire ensemble is really really yellow. The Vols will...
The Tennessee Volunteers have the unenviable task of playing against the No. 2 ranked Oregon Ducks on Saturday.
Oregon (2-0) has put up 125 points though their first two games while Tennessee (2-0) has been no slouch scoring 97 points themselves.
Coverage of the game between Tennessee and Oregon will air on ABC beginning at 3:30 pm ET (12:30 pm PT) from Autzen Stadium in Eugene...
