No time for much of a Pick-4 intro. This week marks the halfway mark of the season and contest, so I’ll produce something more elaborate next week. Pushed for time today, so lets get right to it. Standings live here. I am still way behind. You guys will be running the JCB next year, so good luck with that…….

Baylor/Texas A/M Total Combined Points: O/U 76…….We dont generally put the basic Over/Under on the total score on our Pick-4 game, but we have to when Baylor and Texas A/M play. This ought to be a pinball machine type of game. Not sure I trust either defense in this one. But, how can you not love all the offensive characters? So lets make the official Over/Under set by the oddsmakers as our first Pick-4 of the day. Besides, it gives us something to monitor in between the stress of the Michigan-MSU game.  Personally, I think this is too high. It takes a lot to get over a number this high. Not confident about this pick, but I dont think 70 points will even be scored. The Pick: Under 76

Illinois Total Rushing Yards: O/U 175.5 yards…….We’ve had a lot of fun this year putting Ohio State games in this contest and forcing you to decide on the low numbers of their offense. But, lets go strength on strength for a change with this week’s Buckeye game. The 13th ranked rushing offense of Illinois vs the 36th rush defense of Ohio State. The Illini’s multi-faceted, multi-personnel rushing attack is fun to watch when it gets rolling. Despite its guady national ranking, however, is it really rolling this year. Expected star back Jason Ford has struggled and is only 4rth on the team in rushing. He’s just not coming up with the big plays. The backup options Troy Pollard and Donovann Young have been more productive with a lot less carries. Illinois’ top-4 rushers have between 279-361 yards on the season. They’re going up against a solid looking rush D in the Bucks, but something is just off. We’ve been saying it all year, but their LBs just arent Silver Bullet vintage. They’ve struggled with their speed, play diagnosis and angles to the ball carrier. I think that keeps up against the Illini’s triple option. I think Illinois not only covers the -4 point spread, but they clear the 200-yard mark. The Pick: Over

Stanford/Washington State, Total Combined Passing Yards: O/U 6oo.5 yards………This game has become relevant. And, its a big shock. But, they are passing in the Palousse and it might get them back into the postseason. Do I think the Cougars have a shot here? Not really. But, they could keep up into the second half and always be lurking in this one thanks to this new found passing attack. Do people even realize that Wassau comes in with the 7th ranked passing attack in the nation?   QB Marshall Lobbestael is 11th in the nation in yards and 17th in passing efficiency. He carries hope for a Cougar revival on his arm. Of course, he’s got plenty of targets, highlighted by Marquess Wilson, whose averaged more than 20 yards a catch on his 31 receptions this season. The big arm in the other corner needs no introduction. It’s Andrew Luck, presumptive Heisman Trophy winner and first overall NFL draft pick next April. All the hype in the Pac-12 surrounds Oregon/Arizona State and the chances that its a league championship game preview. But for true fireworks, I dont know if this game wont top that. I’m all in on this aerial show. The Pick: Over 600.5 yards

Kenjon Barker/De-Anthony Thomas, Total Combined Rushing/Receiving Yards: O/U 215.5…..The Ducks enter this showdown without their stud runner LaMichael James, whose out with a dislocated shoulder. The burden falls on this pair of talented backups. Their task tonight is to keep the Duck offense going with the evil assassin Vontaz Burfict patrolling the field for Arizona State. I cant take my eyes off Burfict when he’s playing, but I wont go against this Duck offense in any matter unless an SEC Defense sits across the line of scrimmage of them. The Pick: Over 215.5 yards
