As news broke that Oregon head coach Chip Kelly was going to remain at Oregon, it seemed that he was content there or was possibly waiting for a better job opportunity to open up in the NFL.
If you ask John Canzano of The Oregonian, it is the latter. The New England Patriots head coaching job to be exact.
Apparently, it’s “the dream gig of every little kid who grows up in New England,” writes Canzano.
He also added that “Belichick has unique control of Robert Kraft’s franchise in the same way Kelly does at Oregon.”
Whether or not you want to believe this theory is completely up to you. I see no end to the Belichick reign in New England, so Kelly may be waiting awhile if it’s true.

Chip Kelly is staying at Oregon.
A person with knowledge of the decision confirmed Sunday night that Kelly is passing up a chance to coach in the NFL to remain with the Ducks. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because Oregon and Kelly haven't formally announced the decision.
The decision was first reported by ESPN.

Despite all the interviews and interest from NFL teams, it appears that Chip Kelly couldn’t be swayed to leave his cushy gig at the University of Oregon.
The Ducks’ head coach is sticking around, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. Kelly interviewed with the Browns on Friday and spent nine hours with the Eagles on Saturday, according to multiple reports.

It seems that it's only a matter of time before Chip Kelly is officially announced as the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns. And that should excite Browns fans. This marks the beginning of a new era in the history of the Cleveland Browns. In years past, the team would have most likely settled for the their third or fourth pick for head coach. In a recent turn of events, it appears now as if Oregon Ducks head coach Chip Kelly is close to a five year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles and not the Cleveland Browns as many have reported.
According to Brian Startare of Sportsradio 94 WIP in Philadelphia, that the Eagles have swooped in and taken Kelly from the clutches of the Cleveland Browns. Startare is so confident in his...
Chip Kelly decided against moving over the NFL this weekend, instead choosing to stick it out in Eugene, Ore., as the Ducks’ head coach.
The Oregonian implied that Kelly may be waiting for his dream job to come along before moving to the pros. As a New Hampshire native, Kelly’s dream job may be that of New England Patriots head coach. There’s no telling when Bill Belichick...
In the end, the chance to remain king and win a National Championship was more important than being the new guy. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter is reporting that Kelly has chosen to stay at Oregon and spurn the NFL once again.
Kelly obviously likes to be courted, but in the end, chose the jerseys and being the king of the Pac 12 over Vick and Foles.
Peter King adds that the Eagles seem to telling Chip Kelly that “we like you, but we’ll be fine without you.” King also mentions that Kelly could end up getting “cold feet” due to “not seeing an ideal job” and return to Oregon.

Where I hit you with some thoughts/opinions on the Bills reported coaching candidates.
Consider me in the camp of people who would love to have Chip coach our team. After the glut of stodgy older coaches (Gailey, Jauron), or coaches that buy into older philosophies (Mularkey), it sure would be nice to welcome a younger guy who is widely considered one of the biggest...
According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports on Twitter, the Cleveland Browns will include Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians and Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman in their head-coaching search after pulling out of the pursuit for Oregon Ducks head coach Chip Kelly.
Arians, who missed the Sunday AFC Wild Card game against the Baltimore Ravens while in...
