This is from a source in the LSU program. Take it FWIW.“I just heard this from a friend with ties to the LSU athletic department. I am not sure if it is true or not but a lot of the pieces fit. Apparently about 3 hours before the game T-Bob Hebert and Russell Shepard and 2 other receivers and a hand full of linemen got into a heated argument with Les Miles and the Offensive Coordinator about Lee getting more playing time and possibly starting the BCS Championship game. It got so heated that Miles benched T-Bob and RS and 3 other players. He called Lee into his office and told Lee that he would not be playing in the game. The Offensive CO told Miles that he thought that Lee gave the team the best chance to win the game. Miles told the OC to start looking for a new job after the game and Miles will be calling the plays for the championship game. Apparently the O Line sided with T-Bob and Lee and did not give their all in the game to prove to Miles that the players are more impor...

Miles looks forward to 2012, despite Kiel's choice

LSU coach Les Miles says he can understand losing a prized recruit who chooses instead to play college football closer to his family. While Miles has not mentioned highly sought Indiana high school quarterback Gunner Kiel by name, the LSU coach's comments came as Notre Dame announced on Tuesday that Kiel has committed to play for the Irish instead of the Tigers. Miles says...

Miles Reviews 2011 Season, Looks Forward

BATON ROUGE -- Just before meeting with his players who will return for the 2012 season, LSU football head coach Les Miles addressed the media to recap the 2011 season in which his Tigers were 13-1 and ranked No. 1 for 11-straight polls.

Could Les Miles be the new Colts Head coach?

The Indianapolis Colts fired Jim Caldwell today and new general manager Ryan Grigson will be looking for a new head coach to lead the team forward. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Colts hired current LSU head coach Les Miles.  Paul Kuharsky of ESPN thinks Grigson will look to the college ranks to get his new head coach.  Kuharsky thinks the Colts will hire Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz...

Gunner Kiel Enrolls At Notre Dame

Things got worse for the LSU Tigers after their BCS Championship loss to Alabama when the Tigers lost highly touted quarterback recruit Gunner Kiel to Notre Dame. It was thought that Kiel was going to commit to Notre Dame all along, but a late surge by LSU saw Kiel choose the Tigers over Vanderbilt and Notre Dame. Kiel has since backed off that commitment and changed his loyalty to The Irish

One Week Later, The Dust Is Settling

It has now been a week since LSU got shut out in the BCS Championship Game, and I'm finally sitting down to write something about it. Between Landon Collins announcing for Alabama, the dreadful performance in the big game, a number of Tigers deciding to leave early for the NFL and an unusual situation that drove away one of LSU's top verbal commitments, it has been a horrendous...

Today, Wikipedia Can Neither Confirm Nor Deny Anything

Wikipedia is down for the day, which means that right now in the entire world there is no way to check facts. Sure you can go to the library and spend 20 minutes trying to find the references section (never did learn that decimal system did you?), but even when you do find the encyclopedias, you'll be looking through information published in 1997, as the government declared...

Making the morning rounds. • . Two days after inexplicably throwing his name into the draft, LSU receiver Russell Shepard posted on his Twitter page Friday night that he now plans to return for his senior season after "a great talk" with his family and coach Les Miles.
