There were times in 2011 where Valdez Showers felt in over his head. The complexities of the defense that Will Muschamp and Dan Quinn installed were unlike anything the freshman had seen. Year two is different. Even though two upperclassmen starters block him, Showers is comfortable at safety as he goes into his second season at Florida.

Gators coach Will Muschamp made a surprise visit to UF's media availability for players on Wednesday.
Muschamp wasn't scheduled to speak to the media again until Friday but after conflicting reports surfaced across the Internet on Tuesday about sophomore quarterback Jeff Driskel's left (non-throwing) shoulder, Steve McClain, UF's associate athletic director of communications...
Will Muschamp has recruiting just about every defensive line prospect in the nation since becoming the head coach of the Florida Gators. There are many reasons, but another one just jumped to the top of the list: injuries.

Last month, he proclaimed that Florida will win a...
Shane Matthews made his name legendary among Gators fans in the early part of the nineties. He led his Florida team to the first ever SEC title that the school was allowed to officially recognize, along with a 1990 season where the Gators finished first in the SEC and not allowed to win the title. Matthews now coaches Nease HS in Ponte Vedra and talks about that and his Florida Gators.
It's a new season with a new offense for the Florida Gators under Offensive Coordinator Brent Pease. Pease isn't the only coach new to the offense. Bush Hamdan has stepped up as wide receivers coach after Aubrey Hill's sudden resignation. Florida wide receiver Frankie Hammond Jr. talks about it all right here.
A Florida Gator picking off Peyton Manning of the Tennessee Volunteers? Impossible! Peyton Manning never beat the Gators and never will ever since he was drafted. Major Wright of the Florida Gators took Manning’s pass and stole it from him. Bonus! MANNING FACE!
