The Victory Formation:
Last week, Silas Redd took advantage of the NCAA’s Penn State ruling, and transferred out to LA. When practice started for the USC Trojans on Monday, the junior running back was subjected to questioning from the media about the transfer. Those questions naturally centered around his reasons for leaving. I’m sure they were thrown at him. Not that [...]

LOS ANGELES -- Entering a season eligible to compete in the postseason for the first time in three years, a huge focus is on the USC football team as they opened Fall Camp on Monday night. The Trojans will enter the season as the No. 3 team in the nation in the preseason Coaches' Poll.

''My relationship with Penn State and everything was a great experience and they gave me some excellent opportunities,'' Silas Redd told reporters Monday night. ''But I'm opening a new chapter in my life. I'm a Trojan now.''
Wide receiver Justin Brown is the latest player to leave the program in the aftermath of NCAA sanction. Sources say he will join the Oklahoma Sooners.
The senior wideout’s name was dropped from the roster Sunday. He would have been a key target in the revamped passing game under new coach and former Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien.
Nine players have now left...

It was no easy decision for Silas Redd to leave Penn State in pursuit of a new opportunity at USC. The junior transfer made it clear he was not "shopping for schools" upon learning about the sanctions placed on his former Nittany Lion program. However when USC called - it was too intriguing not to answer.
LOS ANGELES ---Devon Kennard walks around Howard Jones Field these days as a spectator. He wears his white No. 42 jersey with a black sling wrapped around his neck that keeps his right arm in a 90 degree angle.
He's just days removed from surgery to replace a right pectoral tear. He's months away from a return to any type of action on the football field.

With the new Penn State penalties in place, Bobby Bowden is now the winningest coach in NCAA history.
Except he’s not.
As one of their punishments, Penn State and Joe Paterno “officially” lost 112 wins from 1998 to this past season. However, what does this penalty actually accomplish?
The answer: a whole lot of nothing.
Now, I have to preface this argument by stating that...
Former Penn State football players and coaches have sent a letter of intent to appeal the penalties levied against Penn State’s football program in the wake of the Sandusky scandal and the Freeh Report. The letter alleges that the penalties have caused specific damages to the former players and coaches, that the university agreed to the NCAA penalties without consulting them,...
Star wide receiver Robert Woods says he’s “100%” healthy after offseason ankle surgery
According to media reports from the practice, two of the Trojans’ biggest issues in recent years – tailback and defensive back – are on track to be USC’s strongest units in 2012. The Trojans are also experimenting with replacements for injured end Devon Kennard on the defensive line...
Penn State football players will have a blue ribbon on the back of their helmets to show support for child abuse victims.
Athletic director Dave Joyner made the announcement on a Penn State football radio show Thursday night. The team had announced earlier this month the addition of the ribbon, but it was not clear exactly where on the uniform it would be placed.
Penn State announced Tuesday they will be changing the Nittany Lion’s historic uniforms. For years Penn State and Former Coach Joe Peterno kept Penn State’s jerseys simple. They sported white helmets, black shoes, blue or white uniforms, no decals or names. The Nittany Lion’s 2012 jerseys will include:
1. A blue ribbon will be worn to honor victims of child abuse.
Earlier today it was announced that the 2012 Penn State uniforms would be breaking with tradition and feature player names on the back of the jerseys. They'll also feature a blue ribbon on the front to recognize the victims of child abuse.
The names may or may not be a one time thing moving forward, but O'Brien made the reason clear as to why he chose to put the names...
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Players’ names are being added to Penn State’s football jerseys for the coming season, the university announced Tuesday, along with blue ribbons to show support for victims of child abuse.
The team’s generic look – blue-and-white, no names on jerseys – has long been a trademark and was associated with the buttoned-down style of former coach Joe...
