Last year, the South Carolina Gamecocks were able to go on the road and beat the college football odds as 2 ½-point favorites against the Georgia Bulldogs. The win should have been the one that won the SEC East for the Gamecocks, but they weren’t able to finish the deal. This year, South Carolina is going to have a chance to put the Bulldogs back in a hole in the SEC, as these two meet at 7:00 p.m. (ET) on Saturday night at Williams Brice Stadium.

These two teams are both 5-0 this year, and the winner is clearly going to have the upper hand on the other in the division. Georgia and South Carolina have two of the best quarterbacks in the SEC in QB Aaron Murray and QB Connor Shaw respectively.

Murray has thrown for 1,370 yards and 12 TDs against three INTs. He is averaging a whopping 10.6 yards per pass attempt on the campaign as well, one of the highest marks in the country.

Shaw only has thrown for 571 yards because he has spent some time injured, but the rest of his numbers are just out of this world. He has a 78.1 completion percentage, and he has led SC to 69 points in its last two games combined.

The Georgia defense could have some problems, knowing that has conceded at least 20 in four of its five games this year, including giving up 44 against the Tennessee Volunteers just last week.

The Gamecocks have dominated this series from a bettors’ standpoint. They are 4-0-1 ATS in the last five games, though they are only 3-2 SU in those outings.

Georgia is implied to be the better of these two teams, knowing that it is a two-point underdog. If South Carolina is going to win this game, Shaw is going to have to play well, and he is going to need the 12th man to help him out in Columbia.
