Stanford quarterback Josh Nunes was forced to retire from football Monday after previously suffering what coach David Shaw called a “freak injury” that kept him out of spring practices. Shaw said Nunes hurt himself during a workout in February before spring practices began. The school didn’t go into the details of what happened, but the AP’s Antonio Gonzalez is here to fill in the blanks.
