Syracuse held on against a game Stony Brook squad to get their first win of the season. Behind big plays from Prince Tyson-Gulley, Jarrod West, and Ashton Broyld, and a strong second half defensive effort, the Orange won 28-17.

SU fans were nervous the entire day, and this game was a battle all afternoon. It shouldn’t have been. Stony Brook was a lesser opponent, but again the Orange found a way to keep an opponent in the game because of mistakes.
