Sisters of the poor, no more!

Making their first visit as a Big 12 member to Lawrence, KS, No. 16 Texas Christian introduced themselves as the new kids on the block, coming away with a 20-6 victory.  The win is TCU's first versus a fellow Big 12 team and through the first three weeks is now the only team to have played and win a conference game this season.

Despite getting the win, TCU had to overcome a number of turnovers that prevented the Frogs from completely dominating the Jayhawks.  TCU quarterback Casey Pachall would conjure some productive drives down the field but only to have them become meaningless as he fumbled three times.  Running back Matthew Tucker also fumbled once.

Thanks to a well-coached defense, the Horned Frogs were able to clamp down on the Kansas offense and keep them out of the end zone each time, allowing only two field goals for the game.

Eventually the TCU offense would get their act together, putting up points on the board and securing the lead against a first-year Kansas coach Charlie Weis and his Jayhawks.  Along with the 20 points, Pachall and the Frogs' offense raked in 487 yards, 335 of those which came through the air.

Averaging over 17 yards per catch, TCU wide receiver Brandon Carter shined with 141 yards receiving and caught both of Pachall's touchdown passes.

Coming off a hard-fought 25-24 loss last week to Rice, the Jayhawks could not capitalize on the Frogs' errors, allowing TCU to leave town with a fortunate victory.

With the win, TCU extended the nation's longest winning streak to 10 games, now to focus on an 11th straight versus Virginia next week at home.

Counting back from their time in the Mountain West, Frogs head coach Gary Patterson and company have now won 25 straight conference games and won't get a chance to continue the streak until they welcome Iowa State to Fort Worth on October 6.

Not the execution of play they wanted to display but TCU will take the win, starting out the season at 2-0.
