Sunday night, it was made official that LSU senior running back Terrence Magee will be given the honor of wearing the No. 18 jersey this season. The “winning” tradition of the passing down of the number dates back to former quarterback Matt Mauck, who led the Tigers to the national championship in 2003. Last year, the honor was given to linebacker Lamin Barrow, who has since graduated and moved on to play in the NFL with the Denver Broncos.
The school’s Twitter account was the first to announce the news. LSU AD Michael Bonnette followed it up with a photo of Magee and coach Les Miles together.
