Found October 04, 2013 on Crystal Ball Run:
On Thursday night in Ames, Iowa something screwy happened. OK, someTHINGS screwy happened is more like it. Regardless, the final score read 31-30 to the guys in white uniforms and burnt orange longhorns on their helmets.  Most importantly though, Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns are atop the Big 12 standings (for a few days at least). Who would've thought that possible just a few short weeks ago as Taysom Hill and BYU ran all over them, right?  Yet, that's a fact.  Speaking of facts and screwy things....Here are a few from Thursday night's contest at Jack Trice Stadium:  - Texas' David Mack deserves to be suspended for the awful "block" that happened about five seconds after Texas had scored from inside the five yard line. It was perhaps the dirtiest play of the season and how the ISU defender didn't react or the rest of the team didn't go all retaliation on him should be commended as well.  - Texas got LUCKY AS HELL on the g...

Texas Sideline Reporter Rod Babers Resigns; Was Mack Brown The Reason?

Rod Babers, a former Longhorn player and sideline reporter for the Longhorn IMG Radio Network, announced yesterday on Twitter that he is resigning from his position. I’ve officially resigned my job as sideline reporter...

Texas Longhorns Mike Davis Just Became the Most Despised Player in College Football

Mike Davis is an incredible talent; a definite bright spot on a Texas team that  is lacking. He will be drafted in one of the higher rounds this year, but until then and until someone else does something dirty he will be one of the most despised players in college football. Why? Texas Longhorns vs. Iowa State Cyclones: Odds, Point Spread, Over/Under and tv info

getty The Texas Longhorns (2-2) and Iowa State Cyclones (1-2) will meet Thursday night in a match-up of two Big-12 schools. Things have not been good for the Longhorns this season and head coach Mack Brown may ultimately pay with his job for his inability to bring in a capable quarterback. Texas fumbles on back-to-back carries on the 1-yard line

The Texas Longhorns were trying to score a touchdown to tie the game against Iowa State when runningback Jonathan Gray put the ball on the turf twice.  On the first fumble it appeared that the ball came out before Gray was down and Iowa State recovered the fumble, but the call on the field stood.  On his next carry, Gray clearly fumbled the ball but was able to recover it before...

Texas survives Iowa State and Mack Brown is excited

Texas versus Iowa State on Thursday was a lot closer then it use to be. The Longhorns would defeat the Cyclones just by showing up but needed some late breaks to do so this time. While most of Texas screamed at their televisions and closed their eyes one man was excited. Mack Brown. Above is Brown celebrating after the Longhorns scored the go-ahead touchdown. Below is Brown and defensive...

Texas A&M and The 12th Man. The Story of the 21st Man.

Photo credit: Kipp Jones, Wikimedia Commons After hearing one of the greatest stories in the history of college football, the story of the 12th Man as told by Texas A&M, I began to wonder why the tale wasn’t recited to every school-age boy. A rag-tag team from a farm school in Texas, playing the top-ranked team in the nation. The outmanned farmers suffered injury after injury...

The Morning After: Longhorns Aren’t Fun To Watch Anymore

Football is one of those unique sports in America. It’s a sport with a season that is shorter than the offseason. This leads football to be largely based on perception. Every play, every mistake is magnified. After giving up the most rushing yards in school history against BYU, being embarrassed by Ole Miss and then beating a less-than-good Kansas State team, the Longhorns go...

What are the Texas Longhorns playing for?

But, I know as well as you do that the Longhorns are more than likely going to surrender that opportunity in the form of a few conference losses. So, what are the Texas Longhorns waiting for when it comes to the quarterback situation? According to reports...

Iowa St HC Paul Rhoads Rants on Officials After Texas Loss (Video)

After more than a few questionable calls tonight, Iowa State lost at home to Texas 31-30. Most notably, there was a fumble by Longhorns RB Johnathan Gray that everyone outside of Austin thought should have been called that wasn’t. Rhoads is a pretty excitable coach so we know the rant would be good after this one. He does have a legit gripe here.

Longhorns Davis Should Be Suspended

((HT: PlannedSickDays via Vine)) But he won't because there wasn't any kind of "targeting" attached to it...
