The NCAA recently proposed a rule that would go into effect in 2013 that would ban teams from wearing either their jersey or pants contrast the color of the playing field. It was no secret that this proposal was going after the Boise State Broncos and their all blue field which is called the “smurf turf” by fans. This would prevent Boise State from wearing all blue uniforms on an all blue field. Boise State and the Mountain West Conference may have found a loophole in all of this. The Mountain West rule was ratified before BSU decided to stick with the MWC instead of leaving for the Big East Conference. Now that Boise State is staying with the MWC, it seems they are willing to fight for their monochrome uniforms.
