Throw The Flag:
Whoever is running the @OrangeBowl definitely doesn’t lack a sense of humor. In last years’ Orange Bowl, the West Virginia Mountaineers defeated the Clemson Tigers 70 to 33 in what was a complete blow out. West Virginia subsequently put up a billboard to display the score of the game that also happened to be their speed limit. Well, whoever is running the Orange Bowl’s Twitter account they would re-post that picture. A little holiday trolling never hurt everyone. Some WVU fans may not want to see it though. WVU only put up 14 points in their game in their bowl game against the Syracuse Orange. Not driving as fast this year… twitter.com/OrangeBowl/sta… — Orange Bowl (@OrangeBowl) December 30, 2012

The Weirton Daily Times in Weirton, West Virginia didn’t mean for this typo to get into the Sunday paper. Or… perhaps they did. Either way, this “accidental” bit of word greatness accurately sums up the Pinstripe Bowl and the season half of West Virginia’s 2012 season as well. Graphic… but spot on. Please, someone get [...]
The official Twitter account of the Orange Bowl took a shot at West Virginia over last year's game. See the clever joke here.
Tempers flared in the snow between the Big 12 West Virginia Mountaineers and the Big East Syracuse Orange. This field in complete snow with all the players wrapped up in gear to keep them kind of warm. Patches of snow are left on the ground and player’s breathes can be seen even on your home television. Would that stop these teams from a pre-game brawl? Absolutely not. The New...
Geno Smith played in his final game as the starting quarterback for the West Virginia Mountaineers in the 2012 Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium before he prepares for the 2013 NFL Draft. Suffice to say, things did not go how Smith would have scripted his final college football game of his great career.
It was one thing for the high powered offense of the Mountaineers to get stifled...
It's a question West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen didn't particularly want to answer after his team's 38-14 loss to Syracuse in Saturday's Pinstripe Bowl.
But as the curtain closed, amid a raging snowstorm, on a fruitless 7-6 season that no one could've foreseen, it's one that begged to be asked.
What the heck happened to the Mountaineers?
See, it wasn...
For some, not every bowl game is worth watching. But we all saw what West Virginia did to Clemson in last year's Orange Bowl, a 70-33 blowout win for the Mountaineers. This season, WVU started 5-0 behind ridiculous play from QB Geno Smith. However, due to their horrendous defense, ranked 116th in points allowed, West Virginia slid to just 7-5 before qualifying for the Pinstripe...
Bowl week marches on, and Syracuse and West Virginia are busy trying to see through the snow falling in Yankee Stadium. So that’s a possible preview of the Super Bowl next year across the Hudson. Anyway, while the Cuse look to upend their former conference foe, a few other games are going on today. If [...]
The most obvious matchup of strengths Monday night in the Chick-fil-A Bowl will be Clemson's high-scoring spread offense against Louisiana State's defense.
Each unit ranks among the top 10 nationally.
A closer look shows No. 9 LSU's pass defense hasn't been so stingy lately. LSU gave up more than 300 yards passing in three straight wins over Mississippi State, Mississippi...
Clemson Tiger wide receiver Sammy Watkins that is Clemson’s most dynamic player was forced to be carted off the field by a hit by an LSU Tiger. Watkins was obviously emotional over the event and had a towel over his head while be carted off the field. Who can blame the kid? The guy has heart. Tajh Boyd has been getting abused by LSU’s defense and Barkevious Mingo especially.

The Pinstripe Bowl is tied with the Heart of Dallas Bowl as the youngest of the postseason games, beginning just two years ago when the new Yankee Stadium opened. With the Big East and Big 12 tie-ins the game had an opportunity to take West Virginia and Pittsburgh and stay the...
A New Year’s Eve Party in AtlantaThe Tigers of LSU and the Tigers of Clemson play in stadiums nicknamed, “DEATH VALLEY,” but this Monday night they will be playing in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome. A December thirty-first bowl was not the bowl that the LSU Tigernation had in mind but, nonetheless, this is a good bowl to be in. LSU is 5-0 in the Chick-fil-a Bowl. This matchup has...

The Peach Bowl began as a Lions Club fundraiser in 1968, but its massive sponsorship deal with Chick-fil-A and tie-ins with the ACC and SEC have turned it into one of the marquee non-BCS bowls in the last decade. The bowl has the longest active sellout streak of non-BCS bowls, and third...
