LOS ANGELES -- Just two days ago, USC wide receiver Marqise Lee said his injured right shoulder was "fine."
On Wednesday afternoon he said the same thing although it didn't look that way during the Trojans' third scrimmage in the Coliseum of fall camp.
Lee was going after a pass that was thrown to his side. He dove for it and landed on his right shoulder -- the same shoulder that forced him to miss some of training camp when he hurt it nearly two weeks ago.
Lee got up and was immediately tended to by members of the USC training staff and was in noticeable pain. He was escorted to the opposite sideline where he was examined.
His shoulder pads were taken off and he was done for the day.
"I felt (pain) that quick second," Lee said. "They didn't want to take any chances and they just sat me for the rest of practice."
He says had it been a regular season game he would not have come out but the decision was head coach Lane Kiffin's to keep the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner on the sideline.
"I'm good though now," Lee told media members following the scrimmage. "Do ya'll want to see my hand go up again?"
On cue, he raised his right arm to show he was feeling fine and appeared to be in no discomfort.

If you’ve been paying attention at all this offseason, it’s clear that USC has already found the biggest obstacle it must overcome in 2013 if the team is going to succeed: the injury bug. Of course, wide receiver Marqise Lee is the biggest concern — earlier this camp, he injured his shoulder making a catch, but it was announced that was okay and just suffering from severe bruising...

Well we don’t know that yet. Even after the Hawaii game we still might not know. USC fans may have to start considering going the first few games with both Cody Kessler and Max Wittek splitting...
LOS ANGELES -- The jury is still out on the Hawaii defense.
Chances are they could provide much stiffer competition than the USC service team.
And if that's true and the first half of USC's mock game on Wednesday was any indication of what next Thursdays season opener at Hawaii is going to be like, the Trojans could be in for a long trip.

USC football head coach Lane Kiffin debuted his new coaches show, "Trojans Live," produced by FOX Sports West and featured on KFWB NEWS TALK 980 on Thursday night.
There was much debate on whether or not Kiffin would debut the show with a bang.
Perhaps, by announcing a starting quarterback?
The answer, as it was throughout every day of fall camp, was...no.

Marqise Lee can't believe Southern California wrapped up training camp Wednesday without choosing a starting quarterback.
''This is crazy,'' the Biletnikoff Award-winning receiver said.
Yet when asked to make the call between Cody Kessler and Max Wittek himself, even Lee acknowledges the difficulty of the decision facing coach Lane Kiffin.
USC’s All-American wide receiver Marqise Lee and coach Lane Kiffin decided to mend their little “tiff” (if you can call it that) over engaging in a kind act of delivering ice cream together to the USC marching band this week. Lee was a bit miffed that his coach had still not picked a starting quarterback and he let the media know his thoughts. Well, just one day later coach...
