Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn will coach his last game for the Tigers when they take on Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Bowl on Dec. 31.
After that, he moves from the high-profile SEC to the under-the-radar Sun Belt Conference to become the new head football coach of the Arkansas State Red Wolves.
Malzahn may spend the rest of his coaching career shrouded in darkness. But Kristi Malzahn’s infamous, over-the-top video lives on.
Here are highlights of the same video of the coach’s wife. The video had been removed from YouTube, Vimeo and even a Russian website during a cyber cleansing that took place over the course of a month.
First some background: On Oct. 6, Dr. Ronnie Floyd, a pastor, interviewed Kristi Malzahn in front of a church group in Arkansas. She made controversial statements about ESPN football analyst and college coaching legend Lou Holtz, former Auburn quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton, Auburn star running back Michael Dyer (who has been suspended from the Chick-fil-A Bowl), and Auburn players who she says “aren’t the most intelligent people out there.”
John Phillips, a sports agent who runs The Breakthrough Sports Agency, originally uploaded the video of Malzahn’s interview on YouTube on Nov. 25. Thousands of people watched it. Then it disappeared shortly before Malzahn landed the job at Arkansas State. It reappeared on Vimeo and RuTube (Russia's version of YouTube) and disappeared again.
Since Gus Malzahn claims the original video was manipulated we’re giving you Kristi Malzahn’s most controversial comments just as she said them — without Phillips’ video titles and multiple additions of Kristi's memorable phrase, “Shut up!” Hey Gus, you can’t manipulate what your wife actually said:
