Alabama leads 3-0 after 1st in BCS championship
Round 2 of Alabama-LSU was more of the same.
Jeremy Shelley kicked a 23-yard field goal, set up by a 49-yard punt return by Marquis Maze, and No. 2 Alabama led No. 1 LSU 3-0 at the BCS championship game Monday night.

Marquis Maze out with apparent hammy injury
We’re not through the first quarter of the BCS national championship game, and already it appears Alabama and LSU are picking up where they left off on Nov. 5. Points are hard to come by, and for the Tide, it may be even harder if they have to go the rest of the game without…

Crimson Tide has had plenty of time to stew about
NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Alabama receiver Marquis Maze isn't about to concede anything to LSU, not even the kicking game.
Sure, the top-ranked Tigers controlled field position with Brad Wing's punts when the teams met two months ago in what, back then, was called the game of the century. And those four field goals missed by the No. 2 Crimson Tide have left a stamp on the season...

Alabama Football Wins Slugfest over Mississippi State
The Scoop: A week after a deflating overtime loss to LSU, the Alabama Crimson Tide rebounded with a 24-7 slugfest win over Mississippi State in Starkville. It wasn’t pretty, but Alabama rode a dominant defensive effort to the 17-point victory. Alabama outgained Mississippi State 386-131. The Bulldogs’ 5-5 record doesn’t look great, but they were competitive in losses to Auburn...
Alabama's Maze thriving as go-to receiver
Marquis Maze has been making an outsized contribution for Alabama.
The second-ranked Crimson Tide's diminutive star is easily leading the team in receiving and is one of the Southeastern Conference's top punt returners.
Maze has been the No. 2 target behind Atlanta Falcons rookie Julio Jones the past two seasons, but has thrived as the go-to receiver. He's third in...
