Anyone else agree that if your a franchise not even a year removed from the World Series and you have to trade off your star player a year and a half before his contract expires that you really don't deserve to have a team in the first place? Way to go Bud, all those Florida teams really thriving too.

i would like this alot but loseing shane victorino would suck horribly

If we got Holliday we would easily have the best lineup in baseball. Think about it. 1.Rollins, 2. Utley, 3. Holliday, 4. Howard, 5. Burrell, 6. Werth, 7. Feliz, 8. Ruiz, 9. Pitcher. The only bad hitters in that lineup would be Ruiz and the pitcher. Everyone else in that lineup is beast.

you are forgetting that holliday and burrell both play LF so that could not be possible... major downside is that burrell would most likely go

what are you nuts.. the Yankees & Tigers still have the 2 best lineups in all of baseball... SIT

burrel is in the last year of hi s contract so mabey it wouldnt hut that bad to trade him for holliday

yeah but why give up burrell and victorino for just one outfielder? Nobody wants to start Holliday, Werth and Jenkins in the outfield

no just trade burrel for holiday

...by the way I realize that is a BIG if.

Holliday would be great but let's not forget how valuable Victorino is. We have 2 switch hitting speadsters that can steal bases at the top of our lineup with Rollins and Shane which is huge. Also, Victorino covers the outfield like no other and he has one of the best arms in the NL. He hits for a descent average and gives the team a spark plug type player that we obviously need given some of the laid back personalitites on our team. Victorino is a game changer, look at last night at the Mets when he slid in safely at second with the bases loaded in the ninth, that was a huge play that 99% of players in the MLB would not have made. He's had game winnig hits and he's had game winning plays in the field as well. Basically Victorino is more than a stat line and if you are gonna replace him it's gonna take more than 30 home runs and 100 rbi. Don't get me wrong, Matt Holliday is a tremendous player but we have power hitters already in Burrell, Howard and potentially Werth if he were to play everyday. I say we're good enough to beat any NL team as long as our pitching can get hot and stay hot throughout October.

the only problem with werth is he cant really hit right handed piching did anyboyd else notice that during the season especially in that marlins series he had some horrible swings. Mabey so taguchi should get more playing time in right field at least give him a chance

Yeah they'll take Burrell for Holliday, they are trading Holliday because they can't sign him, Burrell's contract is up at the end of the year, why the hell would they do that?
