Found July 08, 2008 on Memories Of Kevin Malone:
Overview-Abreu is a prospect that the Dodgers have been monitoring for a while, and he finally got a shot to play in the big leagues last year. He played decently well in his limited role and was expected to fill the utility spot for the Dodgers going into the 2008 campaign. Those plans were sidetracked, however, when Abreu reported to Spring Training still not feeling right after having abdominal surgery at the end of 2007. Following much speculation about his status, including some rumblings that he was mentally weak, it was finally concluded that he needed season ending hip surgery to get him feeling healthy again. With the 2008 season lost, both his health and future are now up in the air. Plus stuff on his hitting, baserunning, fielding, mentality, health, performance, and projection.

I Want To Make Out With Chan Ho Park

Seriously though, the dude is awesome this year. In 6 innings today, Park struck out 7 and limited the Giants to 6 baserunners and 1 run. Unfortunately, Joe Beimel, Brian Falkenborg (Seriously? Falkenborg?), and Cory Wade combined to screw Park out of the win. Regardless, he shouldn't let those pieces of shit (except Beimel) rain on his comeback parade. When I last covered...

July 7th in Los Angeles Dodgers History

A visit to Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia was never a great experience for visiting teams.  While playing nine innings in the humidity and heat in front of the Phllies' rabid fan base certainly wasn't a walk in the park, imagine having to play more than twice that amount.  The Dodgers did that on this day in 1993, only to leave the stadium 7-6 losers to the...

Andruw Jones Back in Mid-Season Form

Just like Andruw Jones to go 0-for-5 with 4 strikeouts in his first game back from injury. I saw the numbers both he and Nomar put up in their rehab stint together, and I thought it was encouraging. Now, (finally) I'm beginning to come around and admit it was a horrendous signing even [...]

Sabathia to Dodgers Nixed by Owner?

The L.A. Daily News is reporting that a potential deal to send C.C. Sabathia to the Dodgers as well as two other players was nixed by Dodgers owner Frank McCourt for financial reasons. McCourt wholeheartedly denies these allegations, saying the players did not match up and that was that. This is an interesting story if true, as the Dodgers pitching staff would receive a huge shot...

It's the Dodgers Coconut Baseball Bra !!  And we've got video. Nice Coconuts.  The handpainted LA on the baseballs is a nice touch. Cleverness [...]

Are White Sox Shopping Uribe?

After two consecutive starts, one at SS, one at 2B, are the Sox showcasing Juan Uribe in an effort to trade him? Since he lost his starting job to Alexi Ramirez, he has been expendable and the Dodgers and Orioles were said to be interested.
