Ellis was named the winner of the seventh annual Roy Campanella Award, which is given to the Dodger player who best exemplifies the spirit and leadership of the late Hall of Fame catcher. The award, which was voted upon by Dodger uniform personnel, will be presented to Ellis by Campanellas daughter, Joni Campanella Roan, during pre-game ceremonies Saturday night. Former Dodger shortstop Rafael Furcal received the inaugural Roy Campanella Award in 2006 and since then the honor has been awarded to Russell Martin (2007), James Loney (2008), Juan Pierre (2009), Jamey Carroll (2010), Matt Kemp (2011) and now Ellis. The 31-year-old has been a steady presence behind the plate all season, ranking second on the club with 127 games played and fourth among Major League backstops with 125 games and 1,097.0 innings as a catcher. Eric Gagne throws former teammates under the PED bus in his biography

Man, remember when Eric Gagne was a thing? It was great. Seeing him trot in from the bullpen with "Welcome to the Jungle" blaring on the speakers was a sight to behold. I'm saddened I never got to see it in person. But when he came in, the game was almost literally over. Now, he's busy throwing former teammates under the proverbial bus -- kinda. In...

Eric Gagne, who won the National League Cy Young Award in 2003, claims in his new biography that about 80 percent of his Los Angeles Dodgers teammates used performance-enhancing drugs when he was playing, ESPNLosAngeles reported Tuesday. The Angels might let Dan Haren walk; should the Dodgers pursue him?

As the Dodgers attempt to hold onto their less than 1 percent chance at making the playoffs after exploding for eight runs on Wednesday, I'm looking at a potential starting pitcher they could look at this winter. Adrian Beltre says Eric Gagne should have 'named names'

Eric Gagne claims in his upcoming biography that 80% of the Los Angeles Dodgers took PEDs when he was with the team. Former Dodgers teammate Adrian Beltre — who people have speculated  about using PEDs in the past — took offense to Gagne's statement and was forthright in his answer when someone asked him about it yesterday: "He should have named names.  I don'...

Dodgers' Gonzalez returns to San Diego

Adrian Gonzalez returned to Petco Park on Tuesday for the first time since getting traded by the San Diego Padres in December 2010. The first baseman was all business, focusing on the Los Angeles Dodgers and their fainting playoff hopes, but admitted he was excited to return to his hometown. "I was able to sleep in my bed, going to the restaurants I crave the whole time when...

McCourts will be back in court

The ex-wife of former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt has filed a motion to set aside the couple's divorce settlement, claiming he committed fraud by vastly understating the team's value. Jamie McCourt's attorney, Bertram Fields, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that attempts to modify what he called a ''massive imbalance'' in the settlement...

In stark contrast to reprehensible juicehead Roger Clemens, former Los Angeles Dodgers closer Éric Gagné proves to be a man by admitting he was a cheater
