Alex Rodriguez might not be playing much in 2013, but some rumors about him aren’t ready to be put out to pasture just yet. The Yankees third baseman hosted an art show at his Miami home during the city’s Art Basel celebration, and some visitors noticed that a couple of fabled paintings weren’t on display. We’re referring, of course, to the rumored artwork of A-Rod as a centaur that former girlfriend Torrie Wilson claimed he hung over his bed. When asked about the paintings by the New York Daily News, however, A-Rod tried to put the rumor to rest. “No, I do not have a painting of my upper body on a Minotaur,” he said. “I don’t know where they get that stuff.” The supposed art, showing Rodriguez as a mythical creature, has been floating around the rumor mill since 2009, and former girlfriend Madonna neither confirmed nor denied the existence of any paintings when asked about it herself. In any case, Rodriguez will be out for four to six months due to some upcoming hoof hip surgery.

Fearful that people are getting cheap tickets, the Yankees have left StubHub

Sometimes, it's hard to be a Yankee fan, if you think about what and who you're supporting. For me, the trick is to just close your eyes and think about Yogi.  Don't let the other stuff intervene. Just ponder Yogi, and the anxieties will go away.Today, the Scroogebrothers nixed StubHub, the website that represents what for generations was illegal: the crass scalping...

With Greinke Signing Dodgers Will Outspend Yankees

From Joel Sherman:If it needed any further punctuation, the Dodgers established that they — not the Yankees — are the financial heavyweights of baseball yesterday by reaching agreement with Zack Greinke on a six-year, $147 million contract. Unless the Yankees come out of their economic cocoon, they will not have the largest payroll in the game for the first time since 1998...
