LOS ANGELES (AP) -- All-Star center fielder Matt Kemp has been activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday after missing 13 games because of a left hamstring strain.
Kemp, the runner-up to Milwaukee's Ryan Braun in last year's NL MVP voting, was leading the league with 12 home runs when he aggravated his troublesome hamstring running out a grounder on May 13 against Colorado -- ending his consecutive game streak at 399. He entered Tuesday batting .359 in 34 games with 28 RBIs, and was the first NL player to be named player of the week during the first two weeks of a season.
He played in two rehab games with Triple-A Albuquerque, going 5 for 7 with two homers.
Outfielder Jerry Sands was optioned to Triple-A.

LIKE SNAPPING A TWIG
During yesterday's Brewers-Dodgers game, Andre Ethier doubled to left center, and Matt Kemp scored from first on the play. However, while Kemp was coming into third base, he considerably slowed up, and limped off the field after scoring. While in the dugout, Kemp then proceeded to leap up and down a few times to test his hamstring out, and then pulled a Bo Jackson and broke a...

The Milwaukee Brewers have two things in their favor in the opener of their four-game series at Chavez Ravine, one of which is the absence of Matt Kemp from the Los Angeles Dodgers' lineup for perhaps the last time.
The other is sending Shaun Marcum to a mound that's far away from Miller Park.
Marcum looks to continue his solid work on the road Monday at Dodger Stadium...

The Los Angeles Dodgers
have been doing just fine, thank you very much, without MVP candidate
Matt Kemp. So far. The Milwaukee Brewers, on the other hand,
apparently miss Prince Fielder very much.
So it's two teams headed
in opposite directions at the moment and with very
tight MLB odds as LA hosts Milwaukee for a four-game series...
