The regular season is over and that means it time to get down to business for the Dodgers. Perhaps the biggest thing Dodgers GM Ned Colletti has to address this winter is working on multi-year extensions for Clayton Kershaw, Matt Kemp, and Andre Ethier. Though Buster Olney recently wrote that those close to Ethier believe there's no chance he'd re-sign with the Dodgers after the 2012 season. Olney adds that  it would make sense for the team to try to trade him offseason. With roughly $105MM committed to the 2012 payroll already, Colletti may have trouble as he works to lock up all three of these guys long term. Could Ethier be the odd man out if the Dodgers find that locking up all three is no longer a viable option?

Hong-Chih Kuo told Ken Gurnick recently that he needs a break and that he may return home to Taiwan this winter to open a restaurant. Kuo, 30, was sidelined with an anxiety disorder this season and as it stands right now is unsure if he will play baseball again. The Dodgers are already considering non-tendering Kuo this winter, and Kuo has said that he will understand. Obviously this would be a significant blow to the Dodgers 2012 bullpen.

Speaking about heading back home, Hiroki Kuroda recently shrugged off rumors that he is planning to return home to Japan to pitch one last farewell season with Hiroshima in 2012.

Ben Nicholson-Smith of MLBTR has a nice piece on the possibility of some major signings this winter by the Dodgers. He also has a another solid read on Jonathan Broxton and what's on the horizon for the former all-star in 2012.
