The Oakland Athletics are still interested in signing outfielder Manny Ramriez, Janie McCauley of the Associated Press reports. McCauley adds that if things come together, the 39-year-old will sign for slightly more than the league minimum salary of $480,000.
Ramirez was suspended last season for 50-games for failing a drug test, and because he chose to retire than serve the 50-games, should he decide to sign with the A's, he would have to serve his time.
A deal could be reached as soon or sometime next week. Full-squad workouts start on February 25 in Arizona for the A's.
