The Blue Jays' offense stalled for most of the game but the bats came alive when it mattered most. After Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie left following seven strong innings the Blue Jays went to work against Kansas City's bullpen. Brett Lawrie drew a bases-loaded walk for the go-ahead run -- the second of three walks in the eighth -- as the Blue Jays rallied for a 4-2 win on Saturday at Rogers Centre. Pinch-hitter Munenori Kawasaki started the rally with a leadoff single and moved to second on Jose Reyes' single with one-out against Kelvin Herrera. Southpaw Will Smith came on in relief and appeared to induce what could have been an inning-ending double play off the bat of Ryan Goins. But shortstop Alcides Escobar booted it into left field scoring Kawasaki to tie the game at 2. After Edwin Encarnacion walked to load the bases Aaron Crow came on and struck out pinch-hitter Mark DeRosa for the second out. But Crow walked Lawrie and Rajai Davis in succession to make it 4-2. The late rally gave R.A. Dickey who appears to have figured out how to pitch at home the victory. Coming into Saturday's game Dickey owned a 5.48 ERA at Rogers Centre two full runs higher than on the road. Over his last three starts however the knuckleballer has allowed just six runs and has a 2.53 ERA.
