Boyer expected to make the team..

Last night most of us read the reports that Blaine Boyer has an out clause in his contract if he doesn't make the team. It's been speculated on several blogs how Boyer's contract will impact the pen, the journeyman righty has pitched well enough to make the team but is he worth losing Manny Acosta or Pedro Beato. The more I thought about I would demote Bobby Parnell, who has options and keep both Boyer and Beato, while trying to slip Acosta through waivers. Parnell could use a month in Buffalo refining things while he waited for an injury or someone else to fail, much the way he did last season. I don't believe the Mets will do this, they've promoted Parnell way too much to now send him down despite his 6 ERA.
