Boyer red beard no more...

Blaine Boyer seemed more like an unlucky pitcher last night more then an ineffective pitcher. A little better fielding by him along with a few more inches from Beltran and he's out of the inning still tied. Pitches are a superstitious breed and after his outing he decided to shed his Big red beard. Although not normally superstitious, Boyer had allowed the beard to fill out and lengthen as he continued to pitch well in spring training and earned a spot in the bullpen, and his wife convinced him to keep it. source NY Times
