So much for shaving the beard.
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Brian Wilson wanted to clear the air on Friday and let it be known that he has no intentions of shaving his beard.
The company 800razors.com had been trying to offer the reliever $1 million to shave his famous game day beard.
To put is simple. The beard is here to stay.
”I would never consider doing that regardless of the sum of money,” he said. ”I don’t care about someone paying me to tell me how to look.”
Wilson refuses to trim his beard and says, ”I have it because most people hate it.”
Other stars have shaved their bears or cut their hair for charity but Wilson simply is not interested in any offer at this time. He will make $1 million this season under terms of his contract with the Dodgers.
Before suffering an elbow injury in 2012, Wilson had saved 36 or more games from 2008-2011. A strong performance to close out the 2013 season with the Dodgers should net the 31-year-old a nice deal on the free agent market.
