Found June 24, 2012 on It's Always Sunny in Detroit:
You’re looking at the home of Phillies Single-A affiliate the Clearwater Threshers in Clearwater, Florida.  Tropical Storm Debby sent its wrath up the west coast of Florida Sunday before moving east dumping buckets (and buckets and buckets and buckets and buckets and buckets) of rain across the state. Threshers pitcher  Justin De Fratus tweeted this picture Sunday. And wait, there’s more!  According to weather.com, Debby’s winds were blowing at 60 mph Sunday evening and portions of northern Florida and southeast Georgia could still see anywhere from six to 12 inches of rain as the storm progresses into Monday. Get out the Shop-Vacs, people.  There’s baseball to be played.

Utley Brings More Than a Bat to Phillies

Phillies’ 2nd Baseman Chase Utley will play for the Triple A Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs tonight and will likely be activated from the disabled list tomorrow. I stand by my assessment of the Phillies. They are a mess and have too many holes to plug to really climb back into this race right now and win the NL East. With that said, the Phillies are only 8 games back. It feels like...

No excuses for Cliff Lee

Loading...     With Cole Hamels and Cliff Lee on the mound for Sunday’s doubleheader the Phillies had to take at least one game. Unfortunately, the Phillies shaky bullpen and struggling Cliff Lee continue to haunt the team as they dropped both games to the Tampa Bay Rays. This time last June Cliff Lee was finishing up three straight starts of complete game shutouts. He...

Utley says he's ready to return

He has almost been an out of sight and out of mind figure through the first three months of the 2012 season. But as Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Chase Utley sat in the dugout at Citizens Bank Park on Monday, preparing to head to Triple-A Lehigh Valley to clear the final step in his road back from chondromalacia, he sounded like a player who is tired of watching people beat...

Jim Thome's Tremendous Numbers Likely Won't Be Enough to Get Him Into Hall of Fame on First Ballot

With his walk-off home run Saturday against Tampa Bay, Jim Thome tied Sammy Sosa on the all-time home run list at 609. One more, and Thome will stand alone with the seventh-greatest amount of career home runs hit in baseball history. The men who will be in front of him read like a Who's Who of the greatest hitters to ever play the game -- Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodriguez, Willie...

Thome Sets Another Record in Phillies Walk-Off Win

In their 1st visit back to Philadelphia since losing the 2008 World Series, the Tampa Bay Rays once again brought the rain with them. Friday night’s Phillies – Rays game was rained out and will be played as part of a doubleheader on Sunday. The originally scheduled 1:35pm game will start instead at 1:05pm and the make-up game will begin at 6:35pm. For today’s game, Kyle Kendrick...

Philadelphia Phillies storyline: The next ex-Phillies

Rays give up walk-off home run to Phillies

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Pinch-hitter Jim Thome hit a home run leading off the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Philadelphia Phillies over the Tampa Bay Rays 7-6 on Saturday after Jonathan Papelbon blew his first save in 18 chances this season. Juan Pierre and Jimmy Rollins also homered for the Phillies, helping manager Charlie Manuel earn his 900th career win. Thome connected...

Rollins, Ruiz Remain Hot in 8-3 Win Over Pirates

After dropping both games of a day-night double-header yesterday, the Phillies were looking to shake off the rust and start off a four-game series with the Pirates on the right foot. Joe Blanton was looking for his seventh win on the season tonight, and would do so against Jeff Karstens. Runs would be surprisingly easy to come by tonight for the Phillies. They can thank the Pirates...

Phillies host Bucs trying to salvage homestand

Jimmy Rollins and the Phillies host the Pirates to close out their 10-game homestand. (Philliedelphia/Kevin Durso) The make-or-break homestand that was to determine where this team stood as June came to a close has not been pretty so far. After winning two of three from the Rockies, the Phillies took the momentum from a magical walk-off off the bat of Jim Thome and crushed by...
