All at once the San Francisco Giants front office took care of two critical player arbitration signings in preparation for the 2013 season opener.
San Francisco announced today they have avoided arbitration with MVP catcher Buster Posey and right fielder Hunter Pence.
Posey signed a one year $8 million contract for 2013, leaving his status over his three remaining years of arbitration and team control to be determined. It is obvious the Giants should be thinking seriously about signing Posey to a long-term deal along the lines that Tampa Bay recently worked out with Evan Longoria or the Mets completed with David Wright.
