Well I hope Carlos Marmol enjoyed his time with the Dodgers. He was just acquired by the Dodgers in a trade and about 21 hours later, he is no longer a member of the club. The Dodgers, in a shocking move, designated Carlos Marmol for assignment, according to Peter Gammons of MLB Network. Turns out the Dodgers only wanted the Int'l cap $, as they designated Marmol for aassignment — Peter Gammons (@pgammo) July 3, 2013 Nobody saw this coming. Marmol was thought to be a possible solution for the Dodgers struggling bullpen. The Dodgers, as we now know, didn't want Carlos Marmol at all. Turns out, they just wanted the international cap money. Marmol likely won't end up back with the Dodgers. There were other teams interested in him prior to the trade to LA, so a claim off of waivers could happen, or LA could work out a trade with another club. A few years ago, Marmol was one of the most dominant closers in the game and now he can't keep a job. It's an upseting development for the right-hander, as we thought he was going to get the chance to restart his career in LA. On the year, Marmol is 2-4 with a 5.86 ERA and a 32-21 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Follow @mlbinjurynews Looking for fantasy baseball advice?
