Found June 14, 2013 on Plaschke, Thy Sweater Is Argyle:
That's my goal, certainly. It's easier said than done nowadays with sick patches and autos and 1/1s and low-numbered parallels existing. Add in a really talented young player like Corey Seager and that he plays for a popular franchise like the Dodgers and you simply do the best you can, looking for deals along the way.I recently found one when I came across the above Seager on-card autograph, numbered 28/40. It hails from 2012 Leaf Ultimate Draft and is part of a tremendous subset called "Heading to the Show." If it looks at all familiar, there's a good reason for that. I already have one. I couldn't pass another up though, especially since the second was cheaper than the first. It is disconcerting that his signature looks like my initials ("GZ"), but I've learned to never expect elegant John Hancocks.

Puig's rage in brawl a bad sign?

Upon further review regarding the Dodgers-Diamondbacks melee, I'm more worried about Yasiel Puig, less worried about Zack Greinke and astonished that baseball doesn't ban bench-clearing brawls. I'm more worried about Puig, not only because he injured his throwing (punching?) shoulder in Tuesday night's donnybrook, but also because was out of control during the fight...

2013 picks Chris Anderson, Tom Windle, Cody Bellinger, Jacob Rhame, Henry Yates, Adam Law, Thomas Taylor all sign

The Dodgers have already inked seven of their picks from the 2013 MLB Draft. That group includes RHP first-rounder Chris Anderson, LHP second-rounder Tom Windle, 1B fourth-rounder Cody Bellinger, RHP sixth-rounder Jacob Rhame, OF ninth-rounder Henry Yates, 3B 12th-rounder Adam Law, and RHP 26th-rounder Thomas Taylor. The team has a bonus pool of $5,211,700 in 2013. ========== Dodgers...

Dodgers still upset at D-backs for fight

The Dodgers are still upset with the Diamondbacks after their benches-clearing brawl. They still feel like some codes were violated.

Sources: Kershaw, Dodgers talk deal

First, Felix Hernandez. Then Justin Verlander. And soon, Clayton Kershaw. The Dodgers have made progress on a seven-year extension for Kershaw, and the dollar amount will be above the $180 million the Tigers awarded Verlander, according to major-league sources. Kershaw, 25, would warrant a richer deal than Verlander, 30, and Hernandez, 27, because he is younger than both of those...

Dodgers expect Hanley Ramirez to start on Friday

Hanley Ramirez was once again out of the Los Angeles Dodgers starting lineup for last night's contest against the Arizona Diamondbacks as he continues to be hampered by his troublesome left hamstring. The good news is he was able to pinch-hit for LA, and the team expects to get the shortstop back in the starting lineup on Friday when they kick off their three-game series against...

A Brief And Obvious Point (and Questions) about Dodgers v. DBacks and Zack Greinke

Not His Year "If he doesn't do that, he loses a lot of respect in the clubhouse. It's more dangerous for him not to do that than to do that." - Dodgers manager Don Mattingly, about starting pitcher Zack Greinke hitting Miguel Montero in retaliation for DBack pitcher Ian Kennedy hitting Yusiel Puig Um, Don?  I realize it's been a long season, and you are...

Dodgers have no timetable for Matt Kemp's return

Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp took batting practice with the team and did some light running prior to yesterday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Still, manager Don Mattingly told reporters that he doesn't have a timetable for when Kemp will begin a minor league rehab assignment, according to Austin Laymance and Ken Gurnick of "He...

D-Backs get big 12th, win series over Dodgers

The Diamondbacks continued their success in extra inning games and with Patrick Corbin on the mound as they were able to hold on for a 8-6 victory in 12 innings over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night.

Sources explain reasoning for D-backs-Dodgers penalties

You want answers, Ive got answers, courtesy of sources familiar with the suspensions that baseball issued Friday for the Dodgers-Diamondbacks brawl. Why only 10 games for Diamondbacks right-hander Ian Kennedy? Kennedy threw at Zack Greinkes head after the umpires issued warnings to both clubs. Its certainly fair to ask why Kennedys penalty likely will amount to him missing only...

Do Guggenheim Dodgers Have $ To Land Cano?

The Guggenheim Group that now owns the Los Angeles Dodgers could be in for a big cash windfall. Yeah, you know, the same guys that unburdened the Red Sox of over a quarter-billion dollars in salary (and threw in a couple of blue-chip prospects as well)? Rumor has it that the team and MLB are about to settle their TV rights dispute—netting Big Blue about $6 billion. This extra scratch...

Game 67 Preview: Pirates vs. Dodgers

Dodgers (28-37) at Pirates (39-27) 7:05 PM–PNC Park, Pittsburgh Gameday TV: ROOT The Bucs kick off a weekend series against the last-place LA Dodgers tonight. Yep, last place. Despite spending tons and tons of money over the past year, the Dodgers have struggled (injuries haven’t helped) so far this season. That said, they are still a very talented club and swept the...

Dodgers 5, Pirates 3

The Pirates fell to the Dodgers in a wild, wild game on Saturday afternoon, evening this weekend’s series. Brandon Cumpton immediately caught everyone’s attention with an incredible start to his big league debut. The righty isn’t known as a big strikeout guy, but he went right at the Dodgers and struck out all three batters in the first inning – then tacked on two more in...
