The Padres couldn't extend their 2 game winning streak to 3 last night. After a pitchers duel between Clayton Richard and Gio Gonzalez ended in Richard throwing one too many pitches. The homplate umpire was of no help last night either. Calling a balk on Richard that the first base umpire didn't even call. Then calling a ball way off the plate a strike to get Cameron Maybin looking killing an inning. Sad sad game. Here are your Padres links for today:Submit articles and follow me on twitter Follow @M_RennickRichard drops duel as Padres can't rally - Padres.com"In a game that was scoreless until the seventh inning, the Padres dropped a 3-1 decision to the Nationals before a crowd of 16,599 at Petco Park, as their record in this young season fell to 5-13."Padres may shorten fences at Petco - Union Tribune"Garfinkel said the Padres have already been in contact with MLB about the protocol to be followed for shortening the fences – primarily in right field and...

Padres Considering Bringing Fences In

According to the San Diego Union Tribune, the Padres are currently considering adopting an adjustment in the dimensions of their home ballpark. “We’re open-minded and we’re seriously considering it,” Padres interim CEO Tom Garfinkel said Tuesday. “I do believe it is too extreme right now. It will still be a pitcher’s ballpark. But a hitter should be rewarded if he...

San Diego Padres consider changing dimensions to make Petco Park more hitter friendly

Petco Park would probably get alot of votes for best looking ballpark in the majors. There’s a good chance it would also be pretty high on the list of places pitchers enjoy taking the mound. The current dimensions of the park are 322 feet down the right field line, 382 feet in the right field gap, 400 feet in right-center, [...]

The Padres had their day off yesterday and are ready to play more baseball tonight. The Nationals make their way into Petco Park to give the Padres a challenge. The Padres are riding a 2 game winning streak coming into this one after splitting the series with the Phillies. We'll see if they can continue to ride that wave and maybe win a series for once this season. I think this...

The fences at Pecto Park might get moved in

John Moores may be desperately looking to sell the San Diego Padres, but that doesn't mean he is going to sit around and be a lame duck owner until that happens. No, according to a report yesterday, the Padres are seriously considering moving the fences in at the cavernous Petco Park. This is not a new idea though. The Padres have toyed with the idea before, which is why the...
