I knew this was going to happen, the Padres couldn't score last night. After putting 11 runs on the board Thursday night, they were only able to put up one measley run last night. The guy we faced last night, Dillon Gee, has a 4.92 ERA. This means that in 9 innings we should be getting close to 5 runs off of him. Instead we got 1. So what does this tell me? It's not Petco. This Padres team just can't hit anywhere, save for a few players. Everybody on the team is streaky, but they are never streaky together. Maybe one day it will all click, but it certainly isn't right now. Here are your Padres links for today:

MadFriars’ Farm Report: May 26

A clean sweep on the negative side as all four Padres’ farm teams went down last night with particularly tough days for the Storm and TinCaps. On the positive side Cody Decker hit his first home run in the Pacific Coast League and Yasmani Grandal continues to rake. Also Jaff Decker is getting closer in San Antonio but is still under .200.

San Diego Padres (17-29) @ New York Mets (24-21)

The San Diego Padres are just one of those teams that have proven to be absurdly pesky to the New York Mets. Game two of this four game set against the Friars rolls on tonight after San Diego rolled over New York last night making Jeremy Hefner’s start a miserable one. A bland Padres lineup tagged Mets pitching for 11 runs. With the shaky Dillon Gee on the mound tonight, it’ll...

Gee Whiz! Mets 6, Padres 1

Tonight the Mets got just what the doctor ordered. In dire need of a positive start, Dillon Gee went out there and held the Padres at bay through seven quality innings. The Mets teed off against Anthony Bass, knocking him around for six runs in five and a third innings. These runs alone were enough to give the Mets a 6-1 victory to even out the first half of this four game set against...

Every now and then the Padres can surprise everyone. After getting swept by the Cardinals, they are now in New York taking on the Mets. The rain came in and the Padres decided that when it rains, it pours. After the rain delay the hits just started coming. It was almost as if they were baptised by the hitting gods and decided to hit when it mattered. They did a great job racking...

Dillon Gee struck out a career-high nine, won consecutive starts for the first time in nearly a year, and doubled and scored the go-ahead run Friday night to lead the New York Mets over the San Diego Padres 6-1. Getting help from a fine catch and throw from left fielder Mike Baxter that led to an inning-ending double play in the first, Gee (4-3) allowed one run and four hits in...

Gee bounces back as Mets slow Padres

NEW YORK -- So many times in his last few starts, the thoughts would enter Dillon Gee's head, attacking the New York Mets starter shortly before opposing hitters would do the same. His mechanics were flawed, he would think, and so his thought process would be, too, with the whole mess eventually leaving him feeling "lost" on the mound. But Gee got the break he needed...
