If you're going to lose a game you might as well lose big right? Day games usually go in the favor of the Padres, just look at how well we normally do on Sundays. But yesterday the Dodgers got the better of Clayton Richard for once. Normally it's the other way around, Richard usually does pretty well against the hated team from the north. And trust me I really hate this team, almost as much as I hate the city. It has some nice things to go see and do, but I got in a car accident up there last week, so now I hate it more. Let's hope the Padres seek some revenge tonight as we play our last game against the Dodgers of the season tonight. Here are your Padres links for today:

Richard struggles as Padres topped bu ex-mate - Padres.com
"The Padres' bats went cold and Clayton Richard endured a rough outing as San Diego fell, 8-2, to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second game of a three-game series at Petco Park on Wednesday."
Street backs up Black's confidence - NCT
"'I thought about it,' Black said. 'I looked out to the bullpen. But at some time, there has to be a trust factor. You have to show you trust a player. I've seen Huston enough to know he could make pitches.'"
Headley falls one RBI behind Braun - CBS Sports
"3B Chase Headley drove in his 109th run of the season Wednesday with his 29th double. But he fell one RBI behind Ryan Braun in the National League RBI race as Braun drove in two runs. The 109 RBI is the 10th-highest single-season total in Padres history."
Minor League Ball has a rookie review of Brad Boxberger
"Boxberger has maintained a strong strikeout pace in his major league action. In 24 innings for the Padres, he has a 30/16 K/BB with 22 hits allowed. The walk rate is too high (elevating his FIP to 4.48, his xFIP to 4.62), but he's had enough good luck with runners on to keep his ERA in the safe zone at 3.00."
MadFriars' announcer series: Fort Wayne
"Mike Couzens is the Broadcasting and Media Relations manager for the Fort Wayne TinCaps where he has been the lead play-by-play broadcaster for the team since 2012."
Chicken Friars comes to terms with being wrong with a prediction
"I knew there was a really good chance this prediction was going to be wrong and I would be ridiculed or even worse than that – get negative comments on the interwebs! I predicted that Edinson Volquez would have a better season than Mat Latos."

There's monkey business, and then there's Crystal the Monkey business. Crystal the Monkey, a female capuchin monkey and animal actress, dropped by Petco Park for Thursday's Padres-Dodgers game and was her usual entertaining self. San Diego Drops Final Two Games, Losing Series to L.A.
The Padres red hot play of August and early September has seemed to cool down as they lost their second straight series, dropping the final two against the Dodgers at Petco Park. The Padres squeezed out a close win on Tuesday only to be blown out by six runs on Wednesday’s matinee. They were unable to come back in Thursday night’s rubber match after again spotting the Dodgers...
Annie’s Boobs Threw Out The First Pitch At A Padres Game
In a story that is extremely relevant to my interests, the first pitch at Thursday’s San Diego Padres/Los Angeles Dodgers game at PETCO Park was thrown out by Crystal, aka “that one monkey from everything,” aka Annie’s Boobs from ‘Community’. You may remember Crystal from such roles as Dexter in the Night At The Museum franchise, Donald The Monkey in Paul Blart: Zookeeper...

Daily Friar 9.28.12
I guess things come around full circle every once in a while. We all know how awful the season started, then how great we were playing in the middle of the season, and now things have gone bad once again. The Padres have dropped another series, this time against the Dodgers. The sad part is they are not losing close games they are getting blown out. Yes we have young pitchers who...
Daily Friar 9.26.12
I know Huston Street is coming back from injury and is shaking off the cobwebs, but he sure does have a way to make you nervous lately. It’s as if he started taking lessons from Trevor Hoffman and Heath Bell. It must be the Padre way to never get an easy win when it comes to the bottom of the ninth. Then again I guess it’s worth the price of admission to have a little suspense...
