Dallas Braden had successful surgery on his shoulder but it looks like it will cost him the season. So the A’s lose their first ball player of the year. For some reason I feel OK with it and not OK with it. When I say I feel OK with it let me say that I never am OK with a player being injured. I wish the best to Braden and hope he returns quickly and better than ever. What I am OK with is the fact that this will let Ross settle into the A’s rotation. I am excited to see what this kid can do over the rest of the season. He looks like the real deal and if he keeps this up the A’s rotation has just improved. What I am not OK with is that this will hinder the A’s in making a trade. Trading Ross or Dallas this season was very plausible before Braden was lost. Many teams are already looking to add some better starting pitching and with the A’s in need of hitting they seemed like the perfect trade partner. But now the A’s are going to need to hold onto...
