Daric Barton Banished to Sacramento

There is good news and bad news that accompany this move. First I will give you the good news. Daric Barton is in Sacramento! Daric has struggled pretty much all year offensively and defensively. The A’s could not get any kind of decent play from him. He deserved to be sent down more than Kevin Kouzmanoff but at least now the two of them can try to work on their game together in the the minors. The bad news is no one of any excitement is coming up to take his place. The move was basically made so that there would be a spot on the major league club for Mark Ellis. Conor Jackson will slide over to play first I assume. So the A’s are trading one useless player for another. At least Ellis can play defense, I guess. My only worry now is will Ellis take playing time away from Weeks? I sure hope not. Weeks is extremely hot right now and needs to be in there everyday. Maybe Mark Ellis can play a little first base.
