Ike Davis feels better about his 2012 season

New York Mets first baseman, Ike Davis, delivered his third multi-homer game of the season and added a career high five runs batted in propelling NY to a 6-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday night.  With his 29th and 30th home runs of the year, Davis became only the third first base man in Mets history to reach the 30-homer plateau and the 16th player in team history...

Check It Out…a Bright Spot in the Mets Season!

Last night Ike Davis slugged two homers to give him 30 for the year. He is the first Met to reach that mark since Citi Field opened back in 2009. In a season that has gone from nothing but positives to nothing but negatives, a few Mets players have a chance for some pretty cool personal milestones.  We’ve all been watching R.A. Dickey as he might win the Mets first Cy Young...

Drinks are on Ike! – Mets 6, Pirates 2

Imagine if Ike Davis had been hitting this way all along.  He very well may have had a 40 home run season and not been the subject of trade rumors.  Whatever the situation, he certainly seems to be making his case to stay, hitting two absolute bombs tonight, making him the first 30- home-run-hitting Met at CitiField since it opened.  Make a fuss about HIS off-field habits...

Rounding The Bases: Ike Davis Is Legit, Turner To Play Winter Ball, Davey Being Davey

Mets Matters “I applaud that Ike Davis didn’t give up, that he stuck with his plan. I truly believe the fact that we stuck with him gave him some confidence and let him get it going. Ike’s told me, ‘You won’t see that again.’ He’s told me many times, ‘You will not see that first half again from me.’ And, if that’s the case, you tack on another five or six or...

Familia, Mejia push their way into Mets' pitching picture

Heading into this season, the New York Mets boasted four pitching prospects whom most scouts ranked a cut above the other arms in their farm system. Matt Harvey and Zack Wheeler were both former first-round draft picks, fast-tracked to the Majors. Harvey has already arrived, and Wheeler is not far behind. Then there were Jeurys Familia and Jenrry Mejia, two international free agents...

Pirates drop first game to Mets

At least the Pirates weren’t shut out, right?  Tonight’s 6-2 loss put them 3 games below .500 once again.  If Ike Davis didn’t exist, the Pirates would have won.  But he does, and they didn’t. Kyle McPherson struggled with his command a bit in his second major league start.  He threw 83 pitches, just 46 [...]
