After having a terrible start hitting .170, James Loney has now raised his average up to .227 and rising. After going 2 for 11 versus the Cardinals, James Loney is on a 20 for 68 bender over 18 games, which works itself out to a .294 average, and is more Loney like than the .264 he was hitting last year. What was the cause of his terrible hitting? It seems he was thinking too much. “Thoughts will creep in your mind,” he said. “If that happens, all I do is step out of the box and gather myself.” I’m happy to see him getting his form back, as I said before he’s one of my favorite players and I want him to do well but unfortunately for him, this may just give the Dodgers ammo to trade him if the season starts to go bad because as I stated in an earlier article I don’t see the Dodgers holding on to him next season and letting him go non-tendered.
