Coming off an elbow injury and eyeing a starting job for the Los Angeles Dodgers this season, P Chad Billingsley told reporters on Tuesday that he’s not concerned about his elbow injury heading into this season. Billingsley has been battling a torn ligament in his elbow and opted not to have Tommy John surgery this offseason. The pitcher instead chose platelet-rich injections over surgery this offseason.

“I feel normal. There wasn’t a time in the offseason when I felt like I didn’t know if it would hold up. I know some people think it’s an issue, but I don’t. I came to Spring Training not worried about it.”
Billingsley started 25 games for the Dodgers last season and finished with a 10-9 overall record while posting a 3.55 ERA in 149.1 innings pitched. Even though he feels healthy, a spot in the starting rotation is not guaranteed with eight pitchers vying for five jobs.
